Honestly speaking, getting or having HIV is the most stressful and embarrassing situation one can encounter. You may visit a doctor in a local clinic or purchase reliable testing devices like elisa test kit.

HIV or human immunodeficiency virus is a disease that gradually destroys human's immune system. According to WHO (World Health Organization), HIV is now considered as pandemic. Prior to its discovery in 1981, HIV had already killed 25 million people or almost 0.6 percent of the world's population. How can the doctor tell if you're HIV positive?

First and foremost, the doctor will conduct a series of tests. These tests will determine whether you have HIV infection. After that, your blood will be tested using elisa kit. ELISA or (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) test is a biochemical technique used in immunology. This test is conducted to determine the reaction of chemicals inside the body.

Once the test is positive for HIV, your blood will be tested once again this time with the use of western blot testing device. If an elisa test kit and western blot test are both positive, then you're diagnosed with HIV.
